1954 The established Klaipėda Furniture Factory launched furniture production. The plans included production of single-model wardrobes of a simple design, however, in addition to wardrobes (91 percent of the total production), the Factory also supplied sawn timber, various commodities: shoe racks, mirror frames, toilet tables, curtain rods.
1968 Establishment of the first contacts with the Swedish Furniture Concern IKEA.
1975 The Furniture Factory was merged with Rietavas Wood Processing Factory and was renamed as Furniture Production Association “Klaipėda”.
1980 The Company started exporting products to the Western European countries.
1993 The Company was privatised. Public Limited Company “Klaipėdos baldai” was registered on 3 March 1993 and this year marked the start when Concern SBA, the main shareholder, got involved in the Company’s activities.
1997 The Company has become the first company in the Lithuanian furniture industry to be certified as being in conformity with the requirements established in Standard ISO 9001, thus gaining uniqueness and a competitive advantage.
1999–2001 The products manufactured by AB “Klaipėdos baldai” received recognition as the best ones during the annual furniture exhibition in Lithuania.
2004 The Company received the National Award for Quality and furniture collection ANDA received recognition as the best product of the year in Lithuania.
2006 “Klaipėdos baldai” was included in the list of the biggest furniture production companies in Lithuania based on the results achieved in 2005.
2011 The areas of the Company’s business were expanded: production of natural veneer sheathing and upholstered drawer profiles was started upon installation of new production units and assembling the equipment. The area used for production increased by 4500 sq. m, 150 new employees were hired.
2012 The Company has implemented technological innovations resulting in enhanced competitive advantage of the Company. A new remote scanning product labelling system was installed enabling management of the goods to be delivered to stores and warehouses all over the world with particularly high precision. The Company started using lightweight boards, which facilitated transportation of the Company’s products.
2013 Company “Klaipėdos baldai” received one of the most prestigious awards in the country in the field of business, i.e. the Lithuanian Export Prize. The Company sells over 90 percent of its products abroad. Continuous investments in development of the production process and technologies, specialization and installation of a program designed for increasing operational efficiency helped “Klaipėdos baldai” to become one of the biggest furniture production companies in Lithuania and to establish itself on foreign markets.
2015 AB “Klaipėdos baldai” has become the first furniture production company and one of the first companies in Lithuania to have introduced Energy Management System (EMS) and it has been certified in accordance with the requirements established in Standard ISO 50001.
2015 The Company was nominated for the “Swedish Business Award” in the category for sustainable development during an award ceremony organized by the Swedish Embassy.
2017 The Company finished one-and-a-half-year-long modernization worth 8 million Euros without suspending production. Among other things, the installed modern calibration line considerably increased efficiency of the Company’s performance. The production volume of “Klaipėdos baldai” is expected to grow by up to 30 percent following the modernization.
